Judith Kurtz for City Council At-Large
My name is Judith Kurtz and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Concord City Council At-Large. I am deeply committed to listening to and representing YOUR voice as we continue to move Concord forward and make decisions that impact your lives. My husband, Anton, and I chose to set down roots and raise our two children in Concord because we cherish the safety and community of a small-town coupled with the culture and opportunities of a big city. This is a special place where farmlands and recreational trails frame our bustling commercial districts showcasing local businesses and Concord’s rich history.

Concord is moving in the right direction. I strongly support recent City Council initiatives aimed at attracting businesses, expanding our revenue sources, supporting local neighborhoods, improving recreational facilities, preserving green spaces and farmlands, and pursuing a transition to 100 percent clean energy. If elected to the City Council, I will champion these endeavors while ensuring that we collaboratively address the housing crisis, homelessness, and bolster public safety.

I'm not just a candidate; I'm a product of my Jewish upbringing, instilled with a passion for justice (Tzedakah) and a commitment to repairing the world (Tikkun Olam).
Background
My background as an educator and librarian equips me to view issues from various angles, conduct in-depth research, skillfully communicate information, and foster genuine curiosity in discussions. My experience in outreach and marketing and serving on boards has sharpened my ability to listen deeply and meet individuals where they are while working towards shared goals.
Service
Within the community, I am an active and engaged volunteer, dedicated to addressing issues such as local climate action, sensible gun regulations, smart growth, and equitable development. I have personally experienced some of the challenges associated with civic engagement, and I am determined to break down barriers to public participation and foster a culture of inclusivity in city governance, where all voices are heard.
Together, we can create a healthier, safer Concord, leaving no one behind. Our City. Our Future.

My name is Judith Kurtz and I’m running for Concord City Council At Large on November 7th. This election is an important opportunity for Concord. I see a need for increased collaboration across city committees and community partners to face our current challenges head on. I would bring a female voice, the voice of a mother, an educator, a librarian, and a committed citizen to our city’s leadership. I am ready to represent YOU on the decisions that impact YOUR lives!

I am running to promote transparency in government and encourage greater civic engagement. I will lead by collaboratively addressing pressing issues such as housing and the intersecting challenges of homelessness, mental health and addiction, and supporting our first responders. I truly believe that it is up to each of us to build the world in which we want to live.
Our City. Our Future.
